It all began just before Easter play, I had heard of Pastor Yolanda's sugar fast, then Cynthia's sugar fast and thought to myself hm-mm, that sounds like something I needed to do. I proceeded on a 10 day sugar fast . Trust me, it was hard to do and each, and every time I wanted sugar in my coffee the Lord would remind me of how bitter the cross was. So I held fast, knowing that my will has to be broken and my discipline needed to be put in check. "My walk had become messy, and I needed to surrender and die". The Lord spoke to me just one day of fasting while we were preparing for the Easter Play. I continued and completed my quest only to find out that corporately we were going to Daniel fast. Awe yes the Daniel fast. Again, I held my ground and asked the Lord to break my will, even greater. And naturally He did. He reminded me of where He had brought me out of and who He is to me. That my heart was so very grateful and loving towards Him then, and He was calling me back to that place. So I made up in my heart and my mind that I would give Him Glory no matter what goes on in my life and comes back to Him in prayer, praise and in intimate worship. My relationship is growing stronger and my faith in Him is getting bigger and better.
Once we finished the Daniel fast, I decided that I was not going to let go of God until He blessed my family, just like Jacob, in which Pastor had told us to do from the Pulpit. My family has needed far greater than I can provide for and natural man can do. My help could only come from the Lord the maker and creator of heaven and of earth. So I am continuing the fast, I have vowed to the Lord that I would not eat meat nor sugar until He completes the miracles in which I seek. This has required me to seek Him daily, to read His Word continually and to Praise Him everyday and to be very grateful for Him in my life.
Through all of this entire fasting process, it is renewing my spirit man and shattering my pride, will and lack of discipline and has caused me to be humble, meek, grateful . It has caused me to drop my pride and let the prayer group in on my needs, you know those needs the ones that make you cringe and you really, really don't want anyone to know? So I began again to pray and petition the Lord for my needs (which had been a very long time, since I had), and then backed it by asking the prayer group to agree in prayer because where two or more are gathered there He is in the midst. This is my heart cries and God has heard them, I have petitioned for, and only He could have provided: This is my testimony and my story.
The Favor Of God
We had been late on rent the past two months because of lack in our finances. Well, the owner waned to meet with me and would not accept our payment. I began to pray and also submitted that request to the prayer group. I met Robert the owner, and he asked me if we were okay and told me that he completely understood and how he respected our honesty. He accepted our payment, which was a money order and cash and this is why he didn't want us to put it in his mailbox. He extended our May rent to the 14th which is the date we needed to pay on.
The Heart of God
Alex's prom was coming, and we were faced with having to tell her that we could not afford her to go. We agreed in prayer and her entire prom has been paid for. . Through His tender mercies and showers of blessings not only did it show myself and her how real our God is and how much He cares, a ministry will be birthed from it.
The Way Maker God
My van is still not running yet, and while Sharon and Jim are on vacation, they are letting me use their car!
The Faithfulness Of God
This morning I whispered to the Lord as my youngest son was leaving for school, Lord, my son needs new clothes, his pants too small, his shoes big, from being handed down. So what came in the mail today? A gift card from Grandma to JCPenny addressed to Jonathan. $75!!! No one knew, that was just between me and God. He heard my whisper and delivered immediately!
I am not letting go! I still have needs and can't wait to see how He moves next! I am honored that I have the ability to serve a loving, gentle, and mighty God. That He loves much and he desires to discipline, direct and to guide me and never gave up on me. I am so that He has placed me at Kaleo, where I am part of the best family , His family. I am very thankful for each of you and couldn't imagine my life without any of you in it. You are all the best, I wanted to share the goodness of the Lord, my love for Him and for all of you.
